On 12.09, Saturday Night Live musical guest Olivia Rodrigo performed her hit single “vampire.” as she sang “I used to think I was smart/But you’ve made me look so naïve/The way you sold me for parts/As you sunk your teeth into me, oh/Bloodsucker, fame-fucker/Bleedin’ me dry, like a goddamn vampire,”
Not her first appearance on America’s longest running comedy sketch TV show, the performance marked Rodrigo’s second time as Saturday Night Live’s musical guest and came in the wake of her super-successful sophomore album GUTS, which was nominated for a pair of Grammy Awards: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
Wearing a pink dress for her second number, the now 20-year old superstar singer/songwriter, performed “all-american bitch,” while trashing a fancy dinner table decorated with pastries and jamming a knife into a cake as she sang “Forgive and I forget/I know my age and I act like it/Got what you can’t resist/I’m a perfect all-American.”
