Directed by Michel Gondry, the music video for Daft Punk‘s “Around the World” (from their acclaimed 1997 debut album Homework,) enjoys renewed life courtesy of the project’s original storyboard release.
Showcasing hand-drawn scribbled pictures and instructions that bring the viewer back to the original creation of the film, the original music video that included dancers, a group of mummies, and women clad in swimming attire, can all be seen in the storyboards, originally part of the group’s DVD, D.A.F.T., also released in 1997.
Despite the duo officially disbanding in 2021, Daft Punk (aka Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter) recently launched a website without context, and the message “Archives Loading.”
The French musicians also commemorated the 25th anniversary of Homework by releasing a deluxe edition of the album and hosting an exclusive livestream of one of their earliest shows via Twitch.
