Arcade Fire Was ‘Lightening’ On Saturday Night Live: Look + Listen

For their fifth stint as musical guests Arcade Fire returned to Saturday Night Live performing two tracks from We, their sixth studio album.

The Canadian indie rockers started their gig with a heartfelt and anxiety-inducing performance of “The Lightning I, II

Arcade Fire also performed the uplifting “Unconditional I (Lookout Kid)” which Win Butler dedicated to his son Eddie and delivered a Mother’s Day tribute following the final note saying, “I love you, mom.”

At the end of the set, band’s leader took to the mic, giving his opinion regarding the threat of Roe v. Wade being overturned saying “A woman’s right to choose forever and ever and ever. Amen.”

After taking the stage for two songs, just before the end credits rolled, the seven-piece group returned to perform a snippet of “End of the Empire I-IV” from their latest LP
