During his Sunday night (6.21,) headline gig at the TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow, Scotland, Lewis Capaldi confirmed plans for a new album by telling the audience his intention to return to the recording studio after his series of summer gigs are done, adding “After this summer, I’m gonna go away for a bit and make an album.”
Reflecting on the last time he had appeared at the TRNSMT Festival back in 2022, which preempted the release of his 2023 album Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, as he closed out this year’s music festival, the superstar singer/songwriter addressed his mental health issues, recalling:
“And then,” “I had a complete and utter mental f**king breakdown.” “Thank you for cheering my mental breakdown. Was not a good couple of years I had, but I’m back and I’m feeling better, I feel good. I’m firing on all cylinders, it’s nice to be here. My mental health took a beating so it’s f**king nice to be here and back with you all.”
Marking a triumphant return to music after he took a hiatus to focus on his mental and physical health. Capaldi’s last release was in November of 2025, with the four-track EP titled Survive.
Capaldi currently has a series of live shows planned for the next few months, including an appearance at BST Hyde Park and a UK and Ireland headline tour.
