During his forthcoming BST Hyde Park concert in London, Pitbull will attempt to break a Guinness World Record.
Donning bald caps, aviator sunglasses, black suits and his trademark facial hair, in recent years, fans have turned up to the Latin rapper’s shows dressed in his likeness, and now the artist is hoping to turn the viral trend into an official record.
During his July 10 headline performance in London’s Hyde Park, the superstar musician (born Armando Christian Pérez) will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.
On Tuesday (2.17,) the UK event organizers took to Instagram with “It’s official. Let’s make history.” “After the idea was championed by @gregjames on @BBCR1, we’re on a mission to secure a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps and Pitbull needs YOU there in London’s Hyde Park on Friday 10 July. Let’s have a real good time!”
“We ask that all participants must wear bald caps secured firmly on the head, with hair tucked under at the front and top (hair may hang from the back)” was posted to BST website.
With fans first starting to dress up as the 45-year old musician for concerts and costume parties in 2021, in a BBC interview the Pitbull said he was moved by the phenomenon, adding “Every time I’m at a show, I let them know that when you put on a bald cap, I hope you’re ready to have the time of your lives – it feels deeper than just music. It’s the ultimate trophy to be able to go on stage and see all the hard work that you put into the music.”
Other artists slated to perform at BST Hyde Park 2026 include Lewis Capaldi, Mumford & Sons, Maroon 5 and Garth Brooks.
