In celebration of her 78th trip around the sun, Dolly Parton has released four new songs.
Included in the deluxe version of her latest LP, Rockstar, the country music legend has dropped four new tracks and took to her X/Twitter account on Friday (1.19) with her “Surprise! Stream Rockstar Deluxe wherever you get your music’ captioned post:
“Hey fans and friends, It’s my birthday so I’m going to give you a present!” “I’m releasing four never released songs for my birthday, to go with the Rockstar album, and a few others that you may have heard before that were not on the album.” “I hope you enjoy them, and I hope you all have a happy birthday for me! LOL.” “Thanks for everything, Dolly.”
Released in November, Parton’s forty-ninth studio full length includes 20 covers songs with such fellow music icons as Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks and Miley Cyrus, along with nine original tracks.
In a press release announcing Rockstar, Dolly stated “I’m so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album Rockstar!” “I am very honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure.”
