Boygenius Rocks + Acts On SNL: Look + Listen

Concurrent with Timothée Chalamet celebrating the end of the 118-day actors’ strike by singing a portion of his opening monologue as Willy Wonka celebrates it 50th anniversary, outstanding indie rock supergroup boygenius was the weekend’s Saturday Night Live music guest.

Performing “Not Strong Enough,” the trio Phoebe BridgersJulien Baker and Lucy Dacus hit the SNL stage dressed in matching suits and ties paying homage to The Beatles as they sang “The way I am, not strong enough to be your man/I try, I can’t stop staring at the ceiling fan and/Spinning out about things that haven’t happened/Breathing in and out,” over a symphony of guitars.

For their second number, Boygenius performed “Satanist,” as Baker tossed her guitar across the stage and the crowd roared.
