Seven years since ‘Ruby’ in 2018, Macy Gray has just teased her first solo full length.
Hard at work on her latest collection scheduled for a September 2025 drop, the now 57-year old American musician told UK’s The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column:
“We’re probably going to drop a record when we’re in the UK.” “We’re in the middle of it and we want to drop some songs to see what everybody thinks.” “Then I will probably be able to put out an album by September.” “I like raw music with less production to show my voice, so everything’s kind of stripped down. It’s really cool. I’m having fun.”
Bringing her 2024-launched ‘On How Life Is 25th Anniversary Tour’ to Great Britain, Europe and North America, the UK and European leg starts on May 5 in Cheltenham, followed by concerts in London, Amsterdam, Milan, Paris and more, before wrapping up in Zagreb, Croatia, on June 20.
The US leg of the trek starts on July 10 at House of Blues in Anaheim, California, with additional gigs in Portland, Vancouver, Denver, Chicago, Houston and more, before concluding on in Los Angeles on August 16.
Born Natalie Renée McIntyre, the R’n’B-soul artist rose to fame with her hit single ‘I Try’, from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is, and she’s since appeared in such films as ‘Training Day’ and ‘Spider-Man’, and in several UK, US, and Australian editions of ‘The Masked Singer.’
