By secretly giving copies to attendees shopping at his Third Man Records stores, Jack White surprised released a new full length.
On Friday (7.19,) the now 49-years-old the superstar singer/songwriter tucked away vinyl copies of his latest collection amongst purchases at the London, Nashville and Detroit outlets of his retail chain.
With nothing more than a plain label that read ‘No Name,’ the record sleeve bears no information about its contents and Third Man Records subsequently took to their Instagram Story with an image of the LP urging fans to: “Rip It.”
Located across the street from the Detroit Third Man store location, local radio station WDET 101.9FM, aired the record in full, and subsequently uploaded the show online.
With Jack’s publicist telling Rolling Stone he was “as surprised as everyone else” about the new release, it’s still unclear whether or not the former White Stripes star’s first drop since 2022 – when he released ‘Fear of the Dawn’ and ‘Entering Heaven Alive’ within a three month period – will have wider availability.
