Jack White’s 6th SNL Stint: Look + Listen

Performing two new songs, “Derecho Demonico” and “G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs,” Jack White made his sixth musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live,.

From the music  he shared Friday (4.03,) “Derecho Demonico” translates to “demonic right,” and in “G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs,” White inverts religious themes by imagining Adam and Eve in a post-apocalyptic Garden of Eden, as he sings “Welcome to the end of the world/ Nobody left but one boy and one girl and one other.” “But you know we can’t live like a sister and brother/ They’re gonna make you a mother now.”

Having previously performed on SNL in February 2023, the superstar singer/songwriter played tracks from 2022’s Fear of the Dawn and his LP from the same year, Entering Heaven Alive. His prior solo appearances on the sketch comedy show were in 2012, 2018, and October 2020, when he played a guitar designed for him by Eddie Van Halen, who had passed earlier that week. White debuted on SNL in 2002 as part of the White Stripes.

Now 50-years old, White is scheduled to play a series of European shows beginning in May; his next U.S. performance is in September at the Borderland Festival outside Buffalo, New York.
