In tribute to her late daughter, Lisa Marie, Priscilla Presley has written a heartfelt memorial.
On what would have been her daughter’s 56th birthday, Elvis Presley’s widow shared a moving tribute to her only child, alongside a black and white photo of the two of them, taken during Lisa Marie’s teenage years.
Using her daughter’s pet name, Priscilla, now 78 years old, wrote “I miss you “Yisa,” “You would have been 56 today. Still young at heart and yet an old soul. Mom.”
Lisa Marie passed away last year due to cardiac arrest following a bowel obstruction. Several years prior, the singer/songwriter underwent ‘stomach stapling’ surgery for weight loss which resulted in scar tissue and adhesions around her abdomen, creating the small-bowel obstruction.
Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough has been working on her mother’s memoir, which was incomplete when Lisa Marie died. And about the book that will be published by Random House in 2024, she wrote:
“Few people had the opportunity to know who my mom really was, other than being Elvis´s daughter.” “I was lucky to have had that opportunity and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one.” “I’m so excited to share my mom now, at her most vulnerable and most honest, and in doing so, I do hope that readers come to love my mom as much as I did.”
