Priscilla Presley Condemned The Michael Jackson Marriage

In Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, her forthcoming memoir about her relationship with the iconic musician, Priscilla Presley addressed her late daughter Lisa Marie Presley’s infamous marriage to Michael Jackson.

According to an excerpt published by England’s Sun on Saturday (9.20,) the now 80-year old widow wrote “I asked her if they had a physical relationship.” “Like so many people, I wasn’t sure. She said yeah.”

Elvis’ ex-wife admits that she was unimpressed when her daughter tied the knot with the then King of Pop in 1994 . A union that only lasted until 1996, Priscilla added “I was appalled by the marriage.” “I knew in my bones that Michael wasn’t marrying Lisa Marie; he was marrying the Presley dynasty.”

Born Priscilla Ann Beaulieu, Presley’s one and only bride claimed that Jackson was seeking “good publicity” following claims of child abuse against him. Adding that Michael avoided meeting her, and opted to mingle with children rather than spend time with the adults at family events, she said “Michael was a manipulative man, and I think he had his sights set on her long before she realized it.” “The childlike innocence he projected was part of his public mask.” she writes, according to the Sun.

When Lisa Marie filed for divorce in 1996, Priscilla writes that she “could practically hear Elvis sigh with relief”.
