According to local law enforcement, Playboi Carti has been charged with misdemeanor assault in Utah after an incident occurred on October 2 in Park City, when the rapper’s limousine driver was allegedly assaulted while driving the musician to rehearsals.
TMZ reported that the chauffeur told police that an argument took place in the vehicle involving the artist (born Jordan Terrell Carter,) and his girlfriend, and that he intervened during the dispute at which time he was struck. Carti’s head of security became involved to separate them, and that another driver for the company witnessed the alleged altercation.
Responding to the scene, Police from Wasatch County documented Reynolds’ injuries and the department has confirmed that it is investigating the matter.
Not the first time Carter has been involved in a legal dispute, in 2017, he was arrested for domestic battery, and two years later, he was fined for assaulting his tour bus driver in Scotland. In 2020, the embattled singer was arrested in Georgia after police found drugs and firearms in his Lamborghini, and in late 2022, he was arrested on a felony assault charge for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend.
