After riding through a tunnel in Norway on an electric scooter, Lil Nas X was stopped by the local police.
On Monday (7.10,) the 24-year-old superstar rapper and three other Americans were approached by local Oslo police. None of the scooter riders were detained or charged with a crime, and the Festning (Fortress) tunnel was reopened shortly after it was formally shut down due to the incident.
According to the local police, the four ‘tourists’ had taken a GPS route which had led them into the 1.1-mile tunnel and the group “used large parts of the roadway”, which ended with in a road traffic centre having to close several lanes.
“They apologised. We have escorted them out,” wrote the local police department on its official Twitter account.
The Norwegian outlet Dagbladet reported that the the musician (born Montero Lamar Hill) was one of the members of the group in question and alongside a photo of himself standing in the tunnel, he wrote, “About to go to jail in Norway,” adding, “nvm (never mind) they f**k wit my music (sic).” next to an image of him with cops in front of a police car.
The rapper is in Norway’s capital to kick off the Slottsfjell festival today (7.12,) and is then scheduled to perform in Bern, Switzerland and Lucca, Italy before traveling to Paris, France, to perform at Lollapalooza on 21 July.
