In the city of Norrköping, south-west of Stockholm, Swedish rapper Gaboro has been murdered.
According to local news outlets, on Thursday (12.19,) Gaboro was found injured in a multi-level parking lot and was later pronounced dead in hospital.
Filmed with a camera worn by the shooter appearing to show the hip hop star’s assassination, a video has gone viral depicting a person carrying a handgun and firing shots in a car park. Local Swedish police said they were aware of the video and that it was part of their investigation.
Born Ninos Khouri, fellow local musicians have flooded social media with tributes for the fallen hip hop artist.
Swedish DJ Alan Max posted a photo of himself with the singer along with the captioned, “Have no words,” and fellow rapper Imenella wrote: “Rest in peace.”
Famous for obscuring his identity with a black ski mask and sunglasses, Gaboro’s 2024 single ‘Harki’ has been streamed 11,000,000+ times by Spotify listeners.
Not the first time a rapper has been murdered in Sweden, six months ago C.Gambino was killed after being named hip hop artist of the year the month prior. And another award-winning Swedish rapper, Einar, was shot dead in Stockholm in a gang conflict in October of 2021.
