George Strait Confirms Texas Flood Benefit

To benefit those impacted by the devastating floods in the state, George Strait has announced an intimate concert event in central Texas.

On July 27, the native Texan and iconic country musician will perform at Boerne, Texas’ indoor arena for the “Strait to the Heart” event.

At the venue’s 1,000 capacity, the multi-Grammy award winner will be joined by members of his Ace in the Hole Band for the dinner and concert event, with William Beckmann, Asleep at the Wheel’s Ray Benson, Wade Bowen, Dean Dillon, Riley Green, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Kyle Park, and Hudson Westbrook among the event’s special guests.

During the floods that swept through central Texas throughout the July 4 weekend, 120+ people passed away, including more than two dozen campers and counselors from an all-girls Christian summer camp,

In a formal statement about the natural disaster, Strait said:

“The destruction and loss in our community from the recent flood is hard to wrap your head around.” “Our hearts and prayers are with you all. The goal with this event is to raise meaningful, immediate support that can be put directly into the hands of flood victims without delay, while also honoring the first responders that work tirelessly to save lives.”

Proceeds from the “Strait to the Heart” event will go toward the Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund which will be directly distributed to affected families and established Hill Country funds; while tickets to the event begin at $1,000, local area first-responders will receive complimentary admission.
