Following his drunken behavior during his weekend’s Coachella set, Deadmau5 apologized to his fans.
Previously scheduled to perform a protracted DJ set on the Californian festival’s new Quasar Stage on Friday night (4.18) alongside electronic music artist Zhu, the performance was cut short after the Canadian DJ (aka Testpilot,) became noticeably intoxicated.
With videos showing him taking shots of alcohol and slurring his speech, the superstar deejay/producer/artist (born Joel Zimmerman) was escorted off-stage after falling over behind his sound system.
With a picture of a bottle of water and admitting he didn’t “remember a thing” about his gig, over the weekend Deadmau5 addressed his inebriated behavior on Instagram with “Probably my last coachella show.” Followed by a photograph of his cat and a joke that even his pet was “disappointed” in him due to his on-stage conduct, he added:
“Sorry about last night. Lol. TO BE FAIR, I felt the first 3/4 was great!” “Huge shout out to @zhu for introducing me to whisky and carrying my dumb a*s till the bitter end. lemme quit smoking, do some f**ken personal resetting here at home, find my spirit animal, work on some new music, and come back better (sic).”
