Carrie Underwood Drops Gospel Album ‘My Savior’: Listen

Following the January announcement of her first gospel music album, Carrie Underwood delivered My Savior on Friday, March 26th.

The followup to the singer’s 2020 Christmas album My Gift is a collection of gospel hymns. Co-produced by Underwood and Grammy-winner David Garcia (with whom she co-produced her 2018 album, Cry Pretty), the collection arrived just in time for the Easter holiday (April 4th).

The album contains covers of the traditional gospel hymns Underwood grew up singing, with the Oklahoma native explaining in a statement that it is the “spiritual companion” to her holiday album. “It’s been such a blessing to make music like this, inspirational music that is near and dear to my heart,” she said. “These two albums have been on my musical bucket list since the beginning of my career and were planned long before the events of the past year, but somehow it feels like the perfect time to share these beloved songs with the world.”
