After Beyoncé appeared at an event for Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris in Houston, Texas, the superstar’s father, Mathew Knowles has rejected Donald Trump‘s claim that his daughter was booed at a political rally.
The multi-Grammy award winning musician’s appearance prompted Republican Trump to lash out with insults about the rally at his own Wisconsin event, claiming the crowd had booed the superstar singer, stating:
“They got Beyoncé.” “They said, ‘Beyoncé’s coming to sing’, and she came, but she didn’t sing. And then, Kamala came on as Beyoncé was leaving without singing even one song, and they (the crowd) booed the hell out of both of them.”
Following Trump’s accusations, Mathew Knowles insisted the claim was a “lie” adding “I can unequivocally say no one was booing.” “That’s just a lie. Everyone has the right to have their own perspective, but they don’t have the right to lie”.
Instead of performing at Harris’ Houston campaign, Queen Bey opted to make a speech that focused on women’s rights and her hopes for the future of America, addressing the crowd by saying:
“I’m not here as a celebrity, I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother.” “A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided.”
