While serving as guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night (8.24,) Jelly Roll said he had lost so much weight in recent years, it was equivalent to an “entire Donald Trump”.
Taunting President Donald Trump as a “fat pig,” the Grammy winner got a few things off his chest during his opening monologue, explaining that, as Donald, 80, had reportedly recently gained weight, the president was “now tipping the scales at almost 240.” “In the last few years I’ve lost 300 lbs,” “That means I’ve lost an entire Donald Trump.”
Born Jason Bradley DeFord, the country-rap star then added the punchline, “And let’s be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing.”
Jelly Roll then played a highlights reel of Donald mocking overweight people and describing former New Jersey governor Chris Christie as “a fat pig” and “a big fat slob” – which Jelly Roll joked was a case of “the pot calling the kettle fat”.
Concluding his riff with a good-natured joke at his own expense, the 41-year old musician ended with “Well, Mr President, from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important.”
Joking about Trump’s s**t job” as a flag bearer during Saturday’s (8.22,) NTT IndyCar Series Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, DC, Donald was seen waving a green cloth at the race in a manner that some found rather awkward.
“The president seemed to enjoy the IndyCar race, which was a real switch-up for him,” “because normally he only likes his own race,” quipped Jelly Roll.
Alongside comedians Rosie O’Donnell, Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson and Ike Barinholtz, and actor and playwright Colman Domingo, Jelly Roll is one of six guest hosts chosen to hold down the fort for the late-night show over the summer break.
