“I stopped drinking maybe like three and a half months ago,” said the superstar singer/songwriter to her her Vegas residency audience. “It’s boring. I mean, I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my 20s, but I miss it so much.” “So enjoy your whiskey sour. I’m very, very jealous,” she joked to a fan.
During her 2021 Vogue interview, the Grammy award winning chanteuse admitted to grappling with fame, stating that she considered leaving music at one point.
“I got really famous right as Amy Winehouse died.” “And we watched her die right in front of our eyes.” Adele shared that she worried about spinning out of control herself. “I’ve always had a very close relationship with alcohol. I was always very fascinated by alcohol.” “It’s what kept my dad from me. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it.”
In a 2021 dialogue with Rolling Stone, the singer (born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins) said she previously gave up drinking for six months, tired of the constant “hangxiety” following the announcement of her divorce.
