To the tune of ‘Anxiety‘ by Doechii (who makes an appearance in the video,) on Friday (3.14,) Will Smith took to TikTok with a video of himself re-creating an iconic Fresh Prince of Bel-Air scene with co-star Tatyana Ali.
Reimagining a scene from the 1990 pilot episode of Fresh Prince, Smith is caught copying Ali’s dance moves before spotting the now famous actor dancing along subsequent to which Doechii joins the dance party. “Waited 35 years for this dance to trend,” quipped Smith in the caption.
Sampling Gotye and Kimbra’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” the ‘Anxiety’ dance started trending several weeks ago, with Smith reposting the original clip from Fresh Prince to the tune of Doechii’s song along with “I’ve been watching y’all and every video has been better than the last!! Love that track @Doechii. @Tatyana Ali remember this?”
After posting a clip of them mimicking each other’s moves in the mirror, Doechii and Will shared the dance with the caption: “Somebody’s watching me, it’s my anxiety.”
After sharing it on YouTube in 2019 as part of her Coven Music Sessions, Doechii officially dropped ‘Anxiety’ last week. Rapper Sleepy Hallow sampled Doechii’s “Anxiety” on his own song in 2023. “And now people want me to release the full version and now we’re here!” she previously said.
