In recent months Christina Aguilera has garnered attention from fans over her recent weight loss.
Responding to speculation about taking the weight loss drug Ozempic, the now 43-year old songstress doesn’t care if people think she’s been injecting semaglutide and says she’s too old to engage with critics’ idle speculation.
In a recent interview with Glamour, the superstar singer said:
“I have a maturity now where I just don’t give a f**k about your opinion. I’m not going to take it on.” “It must be your responsibility to take up your space. Other people’s opinions of me are not my business.”
The American-born singer reflected on the criticism and scrutiny she’s subjected to since she burst into the spotlight in the 1990s, Aguilera said:
“When you’re a teenager, you have a very different body than when you’re in your 20s.” “I started to fill out, and then that was unacceptable because it was like, ‘Oh, she’s getting thicker.’ Then I had industry people: ‘They liked your body and how you were as a skinny teenager.'”
Admitting that her self-esteem was ruled by “how skinny” she was, the current mother-of-two said she would hate to see her kids experience what she did “Your kids trigger things in you that you don’t want them to go through and it’s almost like you’re reliving this whole thing again.”
