After gutting his 40,000 square foot property, Kanye West has finally found a buyer for his beachfront Malibu home.
Retaining Jason Oppenheim of the Oppenheim Group to represent the real estate, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the embattled rapper has sold the house which is currently in escrow while the deal proceeds.
Six months after West initially listed the property for $53,000,000.00, in April the asking price dropped to $39,000,000.00
Designed by Tadao Ando and constructed some ten years ago, in 2021 the rapper reportedly removed all of its interiors, forcing the new owner to spend a significant amount of money to make it livable once more.
When first listing the house in December, Oppenheim told The Hollywood Reporter “What’s missing are the interiors.” “It’s priced to reflect the need for the interior finishes to be replaced. On the positive, it can be brought up to 2024 standards – it was built about 10 years ago,” adding that “The architectural integrity of Tadao Ando’s work exists today. He’s largely known for his concrete work and the significant cost of this house is in the concrete work.”
Facing legal action for payment on works carried out on the home, once presented obstacles to the sale, as a contractor alleged that he was owed more than $1,000,000.00. for his work.
