Following a wave of sexual abuse allegations, Marilyn Manson has signed a new record contract with independent metal label Nuclear Blast.
In support of their new cooperation, the embattled rocker (born Brian Warner) and Nuclear Blast took to social media and shared a short video that seems to feature a snippet of new music with Manson whispering the refrain, “Keep sleeping, I’ll make you dream of me.” While a label representative confirmed the signing, it’s unclear if Manson, whose last LP was We Are Chaos (2020,) has a forthcoming single or a full album in the works.
In 2021, actress and Manson’s ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood accused the musician of sexual abuse, subsequent to which more than twelve women came forward with additional allegations of psychological and sexual abuse.
A number of Manson’s accusers spoke with Rolling Stone in 2021, including a former assistant, Ashley Walters, who claimed that the goth musician would “offer her up” to his friends, and actress Esmé Bianco, a onetime girlfriend recalled: “Before I was even in a relationship with him, he talked about raping me. [I thought], ‘I guess that’s just how he rolls and everyone is cool with it, so who am I to not laugh along?’”
Over the years the artist has settled a couple of lawsuits, including one filed by Bianco and will face a suit filed by Walters in Los Angeles court in June 2025, after the previously dismissed suit was revived on appeal. Another suit in which Warner was sued for sexual assault of a minor continues. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department also launched a criminal investigation into Brian’s past, and while it delivered its findings to the district attorney in 2022, the DA’s office has yet to announce whether or not criminal charges will be brought.
Since the allegations against him, Warner was swiftly dropped by many of his longtime business partners and agents, including manager Tony Ciulla, his record label Loma Vista, and his booking agent, CAA.
In March it was announced that Manson was preparing a return to the stage. He’ll open for Five Finger Death Punch on their North American tour this August and September, while his itinerary includes a few headlining dates, as well.
