Following today’s (3.08) release of her new album Eternal Sunshine, Ariana Grande has admitted that her recent break from music to film Wicked was “healing” and provided the pop star with a welcome break from music.
In a new interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Grande said that she had a “very interesting relationship to music” before being cast as Glinda in the upcoming musical film, stating:
“More than ever before in my life, I’ve been able to be so much more present and enjoy it and savor it this time in a way that I don’t think I was able to before.”
Addressing the idea of going on the road for the first time since her 2019 Sweetener World Tour – in supported of her 2018 Sweetener and 2019 Thank U, Next LPs – the now 30-year old chanteuse said:
“I miss doing shows. I really do,” she said, before adding that she’s “excited to redefine my relationship to touring.” “If there’s a chance to in between the Wickeds or right after the Wickeds, I will of course do my best to do it.”
About releasing her first full length since Positions in 2020, the Universal/Republic-signed artist added “I’ve loved every minute of making this album – the videos, rehearsing, putting the roll-out together, doing the photo shoots, every single part of it.”
The Wicked movie is scheduled for release on November 27, with the second part to follow in November 2025.
