In celebration of her new album, Bass Persuades. it was in early-September that Miley Cyrus confirmed two shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and 18 along with special guest Model/Actriz
On Thursday (9.17,) during a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the superstar singer/songwriter described her forthcoming LA gigs as the “ultimate dress rehearsal.”
“I think you would have to do a residency of 80 shows at the (Hollywood) Bowl to satisfy the level of demand,” responded the host.
Admitting that was her original “idea,:” the Grammy award winner replied “This is the ultimate dress rehearsal. I’ve learned now through the queue that my calculations are correct, and people will come to me. I don’t need to drive to you.”
Reflecting on her plan, Lowe said that the Hollywood Bowl concerts were “proof of concept and potentially the beginning of something broader”.
The 33-year old musician joked that she also appreciated being able to perform shows close to home, adding:
“I chose to do the show at the (Hollywood) Bowl because I knew that my bed was only going to be like a 10-minute drive home by 11 pm,” before noting that keeping a routine helps her stick to her sobriety. “And a big piece of that puzzle for me is my rest and my (recovery). You know, it comes from discipline.”
