‘Eurovision’ star and cousin of Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso, Benjamin Ingrosso has returned with his new single ‘Kite’.
Following in the footsteps of fellow Swedes superstars ABBA, the now 26-year-old Scandinavian pop musician who represented Sweden in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with his Justin Bieber-esque inspired ‘Dance You Off’, returns to the music fray with his new single, about which he said:
The rawness and grit of punk have been given more space, and I have consciously chosen not to have a more polished and ‘modern’ sound.” ‘Timelessness’ is a keyword for everything I’ve tried to create now. The lyrics are more straightforward, written from personal experiences but sometimes with a broader perspective. “I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about my music as I am with this song, and all the new music you’re going to get from me this year.”
Drawing inspiration from his younger years, the uptempo single combines classic Swedish pop music and the American soul sounds of the 1970s and late 1990s.
Due out later this year, ‘Kite’ is the first single from Benjamin’s forthcoming full length that follows his sophomore English LP ‘Playlist’ (2022.)
