On Tuesday (4.04), the Jonas Brothers announced a special, one-night-only show at Yankee Stadium this summer.
Taking to social media the pop stars wrote “NEW YORK! We’ve been dreaming about this one our whole lives. Five albums. One Epic Night. Saturday, August 12 at Yankee Stadium.”
The superstar trio told their fans who’d registered for their recent five-night residency on Broadway to check their emails for information about securing first access to Yankee Stadium tickets via a special Verified Fan presale as of April 14 via Ticketmaster.
After previewing eight songs from the JoBros’ forthcoming studio LP The Album during the closing moments of their final mid-March Broadway show, Joe Jonas teased the surprise show saying “Until next time or should I say, until this summer, we’ll see you!”
Preceded by the ’70s-infused lead single “Wings,” The Album will be released on May 12 via Republic Records with the follow up single, “Waffle House,” arriving this Friday (April 7). The siblings previewed the upcoming track last last week by saying “‘Waffle House’ was born from a simple but powerful idea: When you sit down with the people that matter most, anything is possible. This song isn’t about a restaurant, it’s about coming together with the people you love and making your dreams come true.”
Finally, and to celebrate The Album‘s release, the Jonas Brothers are scheduled to perform as the musical guests on Saturday Night Live for the April 8 episode hosted by former cast member Molly Shannon.
