Following some seven years of marriage, Kim Kardashian has officially filed for divorce from Kanye West, a split that comes as no surprise as the power couple have drifted apart in recent years.
2020 seemed to be especially inconsistent with West launching his Presidential campaign on July 4th, and weeks later holding a bizarre event in South Carolina. Kanye subsequently posted a series of unflattering messages about the Kardashian/Jenner family on Twitter, at one point referring to the matriarch, Kris Jenner, as “Kris Jong-Un.”
While Kim and Kanye had been living separately for the past few months, their split is reported to be amicable. Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s four children and those close to the matter say Kanye isn’t fighting the request. Neither party is contesting their pre-nuptial agreement and sources say they’re also far along in reaching a property settlement agreement.
