Reneé Rapp Returns To Acting

Scheduled to join the forthcoming fifth season of Apple TV’s The Morning Show, Reneé Rapp has been tapped for a significant recurring role, playing Samantha, “a young rising star in the UBN news division determined to make it in media on her own terms”, according to Deadline.

The 26-year old singer/thespian made her mark with her first two acting credits in the lead role as Leighton Murray on the HBO Max series The Sex Lives Of College Girls, and reprising her starring role as Regina George from the Broadway production of Mean Girls in its movie adaptation.

In order to focus on her music career, Rapp left Sex Lives after Season 2, and has since dropped two LPs – including a massive hit with ‘Not My Fault,’ with Megan Thee Stallion, from the Mean Girls film soundtrack – and touring to promote them.

Joining stars and executive producers Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, Rapp will return to TV on The Morning Show for Season 5, along with Jeff Daniels and and Jesse Williams, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie and Jon Hamm.
