Beyoncé’s Foundation Donates $2.5M To LA Fire Relief

In support of those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires, Beyoncé‘s BeyGOOD foundation has donated $2,500,000

On Sunday (1.12,) the superstar singer confirmed that her charitable foundation would be making a significant monetary donation to help families who’ve lost their homes in the Altadena and Pasadena neighborhoods of Los Angeles.

In a formal statement, representatives of the foundation stated “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars.” “The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.”

According to a press release, the BeyGOOD staff have worked with volunteer service organizations and churches since the start of the wildfires to identify displaced residents most in need.

Since erupting January 7, thousands of people have lost their homes and 24 people have been reported dead in the ongoing wildfires.

Not the only star to held support to the disaster cause, actress Jamie Lee Curtis donated $1,000,000, Paris Hilton launched an emergency fund, and Halle Berry and Sharon Stone are working with +COOP, a retail store that has turned into an emergency pop-up shop for clothes, toys and essentials for families affected by the crisis.

Celebrities who have lost their properties include Paris Hilton, Anna Faris, Billy Crystal, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Miles Teller, Mel Gibson, Joshua Jackson and Milo Ventimiglia.
