In a recent cover story for Allure,Lady Gaga made it clear that her new beauty brand, Haus Laboratories, is an inclusive makeup line for everyone. And in the past few days, the super-star followed through on that promise with one very special person.
In a new video, a Gaga super-fan named Brandon Galaz was told he would be getting a full makeover from one of the New York native’s personal makeup artists, Sarah Tanno. At the start of the clip, Tanno asked Galaz to read a note he had written to Gaga about how she inspired him. Then, Galaz got the surprise of his life when his idol appeared from behind a curtain. After many hugs (and tears), Galaz continued reading his note, directly to the Grammy winner, about how her song “Born This Way” helped inspire him to come out to his family.
For the remainder of the video, Lady Gaga took over for Tanno, doing Galaz’s makeup while talking about the power of owning your truth. “It’s not how we look that makes us beautiful, right? It’s what we’ve been through and how we survive,” she said. “Coming out to your family…not everyone can do that. Way to go.” For the full interaction, check out those touching moments as well as a few more included in the visual below.
Lady Gaga toasted her new beauty brand, Haus Laboratories, with a “Haus Party” for 500 guests on Monday night (September 16th) in Santa Monica.
The pop star invited influencers and friends to a dimly lit Barker Hangar, where she DJ’d a set and spoke about the power of makeup before debuting the six-product collection. The offering includes eyeliners, lip liners, stickers and eyeshadow shimmers in various shades, available at HausLabs.com and on Amazon for prices ranging from $16-$49.
After making an elegant entrance at the official launch time of the fashion line, the Oscar winner said the mission of Haus Laboratories is to encourage fans to love themselves from the inside out. “Although for me, I learned to love myself from the outside in. It was through the power of makeup, and specifically color, that I found the rainbow in my heart.”
Furthermore, the “Shallow” songstress added that her main goal is not to sell tons of products, but to help people feel more comfortable in their own skin. “Yes, I want this company to do well,” she said, “But more importantly, I want Haus Laboratories to succeed because of what we stand for, which is love. … I want people to love themselves. And I want them to see how beautiful they are.”
Lady Gaga has already conquered the music charts and cinema screens, but now, the 33-year-old has launched her own beauty line.
The new range, called Haus Laboratories , is being sold exclusively through Amazon and features a collection of colorful lip products and face shimmers. Though the official launch and shipping date won’t be until September 30th, the initial pre-sale sees items currently on sale in nine different countries including the UK, US and Japan.
At the moment, shoppers can only pre-order the Haus Laboratories collections set, that includes an all-over color, lip gloss and lip liner for approximately $56. Full prices for every individual item in the range have not yet been revealed, but all are currently available to view via the company’s Amazon page. It is unknown whether Lady Gaga will open physical locations for her products, or go in the same direction as Rihanna‘s Fenty Beauty line that occasionally offers pop-up shops, but mainly sells through other retailers.
Cardi B and Offset continue their power couple dominance beyond music recordings.
The NYC native took to Twitter on Tuesday (July 24th) to reveal that she and her husband will be releasing headphones in collaboration with MUZIK. Though no further info was provided, the “Be Careful” rapper asked her followers, “what style would you guys like ?”
Me and Offset are coming out with our own headphones with our partners @MUZIKconnect …what style would you guys like ?
Unlike many other consumer items, headphone collaborations have been quite hit-or-miss following the Beats By Dre gold standard that’s still considered one of the higher-end listening devices though their partnership with Lady Gaga (and her Heartbeat headphones and earbuds) did not pan out quite the same way. This also isn’t Cardi’s first brand partnership. The rapper has delved into the fashion world many times, teaming up with Fashion Nova, Steve Madden and Reebok in the past. Offset and his group Migos have worked with Finish Line and Can-Am, among others.
Lady Gaga is an iconic pop star, songwriter, award-winning actress, philanthropist, activist and designer, and now she can add beauty boss to her long list of titles.
In a futuristic video soundtracked by dance music production heavyweights Bloodpop and Tchami, the “Born This Way” vocalist introduced Haus Laboratories, her new beauty brand, in a flurry of latex, leather, neon, glitter and gloss. As Rihanna did with her game-changing, inclusive Fenty Beauty line, Gaga encourages individuality and expression through bold makeup and body art with her forthcoming collection of makeup.
“The last thing the world needs is another beauty brand,” she begins in the clip, which demonstrates several looks. “But that’s too bad. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but at Haus Laboraties, we say beauty is how you see yourself. Your glam. Your expression. Your artistry.” She goes on to mention her inspirations growing up that led her to this new business endeavor. Haus Laboratories products will be available for pre-order on July 15th and until then watch the catchy posts below.
On the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, Lady Gaga – dressed in militant Pride gear – hit a stage erected on the corner of Waverly and Christopher St. in New York City to pay a hearty tribute to the queer community she’s long been an ally of during WorldPride.
The “Born This Way” singer mentioned that “True love is when you would take a bullet for someone,” addressing the LGBTQ community. “And you know I would take a bullet for you any day of the week.” She also spoke about the need “to change the system of an extremely oppressive administration” and asked the crowd to think of the progress people can make in the next 50 years if they keep “inject[ing] the world with this message of unity and passion.”
After Gaga, the Pride Live Stonewall Day Concert brought out RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen, whose lip sync of Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” included a massive reveal – Alicia herself. Keys delivered stirring covers of Cyndi Lauper‘s “True Colors,” Crystal Waters’ “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)” and her own classic ode to NYC, “Empire State of Mind.” Overall, the event was considered a success for the LGBTQ+ community and served as a reminder of the continuing work that all people should be taking part in.
In the wake of Georgia passing their controversial “fetal heartbeat” abortion law last month, Ariana Grande has made a generous donation to Planned Parenthood.
According to a statement from Planned Parenthood, the world-renowned singer gifted just a portion of the proceeds from her June 8th sold-out show in Atlanta to the clinic in the wake of calls for a state boycott. “Ariana Grande’s generous donation comes at a critical time — in Georgia and across the country, anti-women’s health politicians are trying to ban all safe, legal abortion,” Planned Parenthood Federation of America president Dr. Leana Wen said in a statement. The donation was estimated to be $250,000.
“Thanks to inspiring support like hers, Planned Parenthood can continue to fight back — in the courts, in Congress, in state houses, and in the streets — against these dangerous attacks on people’s health and lives,” she continued.
Grande isn’t the only musician fighting against the government of elected officials lately, as Billie Eilish recently called the law “unbelievable” and The 1975’s Matty Healy decried it during a show in Alabama. Halsey has also raised her voice, teaming up with the ACLU in support of abortion accessibility. Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Offset and many more artists have shown their opposition to restrictive abortion laws in Alabama and Missouri.

What many consider to be the fashion event of the year, the Met Gala, hosted by New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, witnessed celebrities dressing up in lavish and puzzling outfits while walking the red carpet last night.
Addressing this year’s of “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” theme, artists and fashionista icons from all walks of life adorned themselves in appropriate attire, with some going completely off-script. Various notable inclusions were the Kardashian/Jenner clan in matching outfits, Katy Perry acting as a personified chandelier, Lady Gaga wearing four different costumes, and Frank Ocean and Kanye West rocking simple black coats.
Perry, who had arguably the most outrageous look of the night, needed two handlers in order to keep the multiple, fully-lit ceiling fixtures from toppling off of her body. The “Born This Way” singer took a different approach by sporting two pink and two black outfits, peeling them off with help to finally reveal a set of black lingerie. Adding to her ensemble were $2 million worth of Tiffany diamonds.
Frank Ocean and Kanye West appeared to be on the same wavelength last night as they donned basic, but elegant black jackets. The “Nikes” artist carried a Prada windbreaker whereas Yeezy, who is known for his extremely expensive line of clothing, fooled fans with a sub-$50 work coat. Compare the two pieces of outerwear below

Today (March 8th) marks International Women’s Day, and women across the globe are celebrating by recognizing and sharing inspiring messages. This year’s IWD theme is Balance For Better, so that people can build a gender-balanced world.
While artists such as Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Little Mix, Natti Natasha, Sara Bareilles, Christina Perri and more have taken to social media to express their gratitude for the influential people in their lives as well as uplift their fellow musicians, Google created an interactive Doodle depicting inspirational quotes by trailblazers from all over the globe. The installation features 13 statements from both past and present female leaders, including multimedia artist and musician Yoko Ono, Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, American astronaut Mae Jemison, Indian Olympian boxer May Kom and many more.
In a release, Google says it was no easy task to choose which one to use. “The process of choosing the thirteen quotes was extremely difficult, but we aimed to include a diverse representation of voices on a day which celebrates the past, present, and future community of diverse women around the world,” the statement reads.
Fans and supporters alike can read more about each artists’ inspiration behind the Doodle on their site.
