Will Celine Dion Perform At Olympics?

Recently spotted greeting fans outside the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris, Variety magazine reports that Celine Dion will perform at the Olympics Opening Ceremony on Friday (7.26.)

According to TMZ, the superstar Canadian singer will perform one song at the 2024 Games ceremony in return for a $2,000,000.00 pay day. And should the rumors become reality, it will be the first time the now 56-year-old has sung in public since announcing her Stiff-Person Syndrome diagnosis in December 2022.

In April, the Grammy-award winning chanteuse told Vogue France that she unsure if/when she would ever be able to sing live again.

“I can’t answer that… Because for four years I’ve been saying to myself that I’m not going back, that I’m ready, that I’m not ready.” “As things stand, I can’t stand here and say to you: ‘Yes, in four months.’ I don’t know… My body will tell me. On the other hand, I don’t just want to wait,’ stated Dion.

Though not performing, Celine Dion has been seen in public several times over the past few months, including an appearance at the premiere of her Prime Video documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, at Alice Tully Hall in New York City, where she talked about her experience with the often debilitating illness. And on June 28 she was in Las Vegas to announce the Montreal Canadiens’ fifth-round draft pick at the 2024 Upper Deck NHL Draft.
