Originally released during the 1996 winter holiday season, Emma Bunton has shared her new solo rendition of the Spice Girls single “2 Become 1.”
Taking to social media over the weekend, Bunton announced “Earlier this year, I had the amazing opportunity to record one of my favourite Spice Girls singles, 2 Become 1, with the incredible Budapest Scoring Orchestra!” “Hearing the song brought to life by such a talented orchestra gave me goosebumps — it was such a magical experience. We just had to capture the session on film.”
In the accompanying music video filmed while she and the orchestra recorded the song, the Spice Girls member performs the ballad surrounded by the large string section.
On Christmas day in the United Kingdom Bunton’s performance during Strictly Come Dancing’s Christmas special is set to air on BBC One.
To mark the 30th anniversary of the very first Spice Girls auditions, in March the group shared archival footage from the audition process and the following month, they reunited for Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party, where they sang “Stop” from their 1997 sophomore album, Spiceworld.
Though the Spice Girls had a reunion tour in 2019, Posh did not join the outing and the last time they all performed together publicly was at the London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012
