Trump Slams Acts For Ditching Freedom 250

Referring to them as “third rate artists,” in this weekends Truth Social post, Donald Trump took aim at the musicians who’ve pulled out of the Freedom 250 concert series, stating:

“I understand Artists are getting ‘the yips’ having to do with their performance on Wednesday, so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World,” referring to himself as “the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime”.

Adding that he would give a “major” speech that would rally “the Country forward like I have done ever since being President,” Trump concluded “I don’t want so-called ‘Artists’ that get paid far too much money, who aren’t happy. I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN.”

The president’s statement comes after multiple artists – including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Morris Day & The Time, Young MC, and The Commodores – pulled out of the concert series, which was scheduled to run from June 25 thru July 10, 2026.

Claims of being misled as to the nature of the event, several performers took to social media explaining their respective positions.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday (5.28,) McBride wrote “I was presented with an opportunity to perform at a nonpartisan event, but that turned out to be misleading.”

In his Instagram statement. Young MC claimed “the artists were never told about any political involvement with the event.”

Michaels told fans he was pulling out of the show because “what was presented to us as a celebration of our country has evolved into something much more divisive than what I agreed to be a part of”.
