Travis Scott Facing Drunken Lawsuit

Though charges were not pressed at the time, Travis Scott was arrested for disorderly intoxication and trespassing at Miami Beach Marina in June 2024, and is now facing a lawsuit for allegedly attacking and threatening the crew of a chartered yacht.

Obtained by Billboard, the lawsuit claims that on June 19, 2024 the superstar rapper rented the 105-foot yacht Carpe Diem to cruise around Miami’s coast with three female guests. The boat captain Adrian Frometa and charter managers John Steve Holguin and Mirnesa Hasanovic are now pursuing civil assault claims against the musician.

At first the sole crew member on board, Frometa claims the embattled artist became intoxicated and aggressive as the evening wore on. In response the captain decided to end the charter early, but Scott allegedly refused to disembark at the marina.

“Without any warning, Scott pushed Frometa from behind and then struck him with a closed fist to his neck and upper chest.” “Scott repeatedly threatened Frometa, including by stating that Frometa was ‘dead’ and that Scott was ‘going to kill’ him,” read the lawsuit.

Frometa called in Hasanovic and Holguin for backup, and a further scuffle ensued, during which Holguin says he was knocked to the ground. Hasanovic and Holguin barricaded themselves inside the boat while Scott “screamed they were ‘dead'”, and attempted to force open a glass door while the staff members held it shut from the inside.

Law enforcement arrived on the scene and arrested Scott.

Travis Scott later sold merchandise featuring his mug shot from the incident, a move that, according to Frometa, Hasanovic and Holguin, “made light of the incident and the harm caused”.

The group is seeking unspecified financial damages for claims of assault, battery, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
