Spice Girls Halliwell Assumes Maiden Name

Amid the ongoing scandal surrounding her husband Christian Horner, Geri Horner has re-assumed her maiden name Geri Halliwell.

Taking to her social media account for French fashion house Dior, the Spice Girls star called herself by her maiden name in a recently posted video which starts with “Bonjour! C’est moi Geri, Geri Halliwell.” Ahead of the brand’s runway show at Drummond Castle in Crieff, on Monday (6.03,) the video followed Ginger Spice as she learned more about Dior’s history with Scotland.

Born Geraldine Estelle Halliwell, the singer/actress who took the surname Horner after marrying Christian in 2015, has recently been referring to herself as Geri Halliwell-Horner, the moniker she also uses on social media. 

Geri’s name change comes after the Red Bull Formula One boss was accused of inappropriate behavior by a female team employee earlier this year. Though he strongly denied any wrongdoing and was cleared of misconduct following a formal investigation, Horner’s accuser was reportedly suspended on full pay and is currently appealing the decision to clear Christian. 

During a March news conference, Christian Horner thanked his “supportive wife” as he called for a line to be drawn under the incident, stating “I’m very thankful I have a beautiful family and a very supportive wife. I’m the only one who has been named in this.” “So of course, it’s very trying. When there’s children involved, family, parents… it’s not pretty.” “The intrusion on my family is now enough. We need to move forward. Obviously, there’s been an awful lot of coverage surrounding this. But one has to go back to the basis that a grievance was raised, it was investigated, and it was dismissed.” 

While each spouse has older daughters from previous relationships, Geri and Christian share a seven-year-old son named Montague,
