Following a litany of hints about forthcoming solo Skrillex songs, the artist himself has confirmed that new repertoire is on its way.
Subsequent to the release of Justin Bieber‘s Justice, containing a number of Skrillex -produced tracks, after sharing clips of the tracks the dubstep maestro took to Instagram to offer up an important reassurance: “I wanted to say to all of my fans and supporters I love you and I appreciate your patience. New music soon.”
With his last album, Recess released in 2014, rumors of a new Skrillex LP have persisted for years. In the interim, however, the artist (born Sonny John Moore) has come with a number of tracks, collaborations, remixes, and productions with the likes of Kelsy Lu, Starrah, Travis Scott, Joyryde, What So Not, Sirah, Lykke Li & Ty Dolla $ign, Ed Sheeran, Kanye West, and more. That notwithstanding, many of his fans are stuck on what is considered the “classic” Skrillex sound even though it’s been years since he released material in that style.
