According to The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and Deadline, J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions are working on a scripted Netflix series about U2.
Reportedly being written by Anthony McCarten, who penned the screenplay for the Oscar-nominated Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the legendary Irish rock band are “expected to be involved and sanction the project.”
Not the first time the quartet have been the subject of movies, U2 were involved with 1988’s Rattle and Hum, the 2008 concert film U2 3D, and the 2011 documentary From the Sky Down. Additionally, in 2021 Bono was the voice of a reclusive rock star lion named Clay Calloway in the animated movie Sing 2 and his band contributed to the sound track with their original song “Your Song Saved My Life.”
