Miley Cyrus Teases Cover Of Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’ With Elton John + More: Watch

The latest in a litany of recent cover versions, Miley Cyrus starts 2021 with a classic rock entry featuring the former Disney Channel star, an LGBTQ icon, a rock drummer, and a renowned classical cellist.

In an interview with UK radio station Capital FM, Cyrus teased her upcoming collaboration with Sir Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, performing: Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters.”

As part of the interview, Miley stated “I did a Metallica cover of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ featuring Elton John on piano, I’ve got Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith; so many all-stars in this band.” “I’m so excited about this collaboration.”

Cyrus understands that the concept of this cover song may not make sense to some fans, which is why she finds the idea so attractive. “I mean, having Elton John and Metallica and me … I love when ingredients don’t quite fit,” she said. “Or it seems like a concoction that no one would ever put together, and you gotta have someone like [the song’s producer Andrew] Watt that will take that risk.”
