Miley Cyrus Receives Golden Globe Nomination: Look + Listen

On The Last Showgirl, Pamela Anderson stars as a Las Vegas showgirl struggling to come to terms with her show abruptly closing after its 30-year run, and for the film Miley Cyrus contributed “Beautiful That Way,” a tender ballad of consoling encouragement.

On her 2025 Golden Globes nomination for Best Original Song, the Grammy award winner sings “I know it hurts, for what it’s worth/But you had to know summer would go.”

Co-written with Lykke Li and longtime collaborator Andrew Wyatt (who also produced and arranged the song,) Cyrus told Variety “This song is devoted to the film and focused on the story Gia and Pam are telling,” “The lyrics really resonate with me personally but sonically this song is a love letter to their project.”

“Pamela is deeply embedded into my earliest memories with my mother.” “We both worshipped Pam and still do. I took the emotion I have towards those times with my mom and the few times we’ve gotten to spend with Pam. I thought a lot about what this film means to her not just as an actress but as the special person that she is. I celebrate evolution and she has done that in such a graceful way which is reflected in Last Showgirl.”

Cyrus’ Golden Globes nomination marks her second overall nod following her 2009 “I Thought I Lost You” from Disney’s Bolt that scored a nomination for Best Original Song.

The Last Showgirl premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and is scheduled for an international release on January preempted by select theater screenings as of December 13.
