On Sunday (5.14) Lizzo took to Instagram posting a clip of her cameo appearance on The Simpsons.
Playing herself on the long-running animated series, the superstar singer/songwriter/flautist wrote:
“Every Icon has been on @thesimpsons – now I can add my name to the list!” “Thank you to the whole team for making this a dream come true.”
In her Simpsons’ scene, Lizzo’s character is seen doing voiceover work alongside Homer Simpson when Bart Simpson halts their session so he can comically slap his father repeatedly as part of the stage direction.
The star (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) subsequently takes it upon herself to start playing her flute, (famously nicknamed Sasha Flute,) to the tune of The Simpsons’ theme song.
As part of her social media message, the Atlantic Records artist noted that the cartoon version of herself was wearing an outfit inspired by the designs in her shape wear brand Yitty, writing “Yes, I’m wearing @yitty and playing @sashabefluting !!!!”
Lizzo previously displayed her love for the sitcom when she dressed up as Marge Simpson for a Halloween party last October.
