Lewis Capaldi Returns With ‘Survive’: Look + Listen

Following a two-year hiatus from music in order to focus on his mental health, earlier today (6.27,) Lewis Capaldi dropped his aptly titled, comeback single, ‘Survive.’

Co-written by RØMANS, with whom he worked in 2019 on ‘Someone You Loved,’ the Scottish-born musician’s latest offering outlines his experiences with mental health struggles as he sings “Most nights I fear that I’m not enough/I’ve had my share of Monday mornings when I can’t get up/I swear to God I’ll survive, if it kills me to/I’m gonna get up and try, if it’s the last thing I’ll do.”

Following health issues, including his Tourette’s syndrome diagnosis, it was in June of 2023 that the superstar artist confirmed his need “to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order”.

Three days prior to his announcing the hiatus, Capaldi shocked fans at Glastonbury when he struggled through his Pyramid Stage set, yet following today’s release, fans are certain that the now 28-year-old will perform ‘Survive’ during his Friday set at Glastonbury.

In his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland, and in Castle Cary, near Glastonbury in England, Lewis’ fans recently noticed billboards featuring lyrics from Capaldi’s new song.
