Lady Gaga Sued By Surfboard Company

Accusing the pop star of using the Mayhem logo for her latest album, Lady Gaga has been sued by surfboard brand company, Lost International that has taken legal action against the musician.

According to the lawsuit, the company is taking legal action against the artist (born Stefani Germanotta) for trademark infringement, claiming they own the rights to Mayhem and have sold merchandise and surfboards bearing the word on its products since 2015.

Lost International has accused Gaga of using the logo on her album and merchandise without permission, and in an attempt to highlight the similarities, the company included side-by-side images of one of its hoodies (with the logo on the back) compared to a hoodie from Gaga’s merchandise collection (with her version of the logo on the back.)

The plaintiff has also claimed that it contacted the multi Grammy award winning singer/songwriter, requesting she refrain from using the logo, but she did not acquiesce.

Seeking damages, including any profits she made from using Mayhem, the lawsuit asks that Gaga be barred from using the logo.

At press time, Gaga has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
