In a sincere statement shared on her Instagram account, Heart lead singer Ann Wilson confirmed that she “recently underwent an operation to remove something that was cancerous.”
“The operation was successful and I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I’ve decided to do it,” the superstar singer went on to say that her doctors have suggested she “take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover”.
Given Ann’s recent diagnosis, Heart has oped to postpone their North American Royal Flush Tour, which was scheduled to begin in Cleveland on July 30 and run through to December.
“To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025.” “This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.” “Respectfully, this is the last public statement I’d like to make on the matter,” added Ann.
Ann has been a member of Heart since the early 1970s, and her younger sibling, Nancy Wilson, is also a member of the band.
