On Friday (9.29) Grimes filed a petition in Los Angeles court to “establish a parental relationship” against Elon Musk over their three children.
The submission comes several weeks after it was revealed that the Canadian musician and the former chairman of Tesla share a third child.
In her request, the now 34-year old artist intends to have the court identify the legal parents of a child when they are unmarried. The petition has yet to confirm whether the singer (born Claire Boucher,) is seeking custody rights and/or child support.
Grimes and Musk starting dating in 2018, and following a three-year long on-again-off-again relationship, the couple broke up for good in 2021.
Grimes and Musk welcomed their first child, a son named X Æ A-Xii, in May of 2020, followed by their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, aka Y, in December of 2021.
In September of this year, it was revealed that Grimes had given birth to a third child, Techno Mechanicus, aka Tau. Shortly thereafter, the mother took to X asking the child’s father ‘to let her see her son after Isaacson (a journalist) shared an image of Musk’s twins, whom he shares with Shivon Zilis,’ writing:
“Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer.” “I have never even been allowed to see a photo of these children until this moment, despite the situation utterly ripping my family apart.”
Musk has been married three times, and according to reports, is the father of at least 11 children.
