In response to the devastating fires raging in the Los Angeles area, Fuerza Regida is lending support to those in need of temporary housing by renting out a hotel for families in need.
On Saturday (1.11,) in a formal statement via Billboard, the Mexican American group from San Bernardino, CA said “To our beloved community affected by the Los Angeles fires: We are here for you in this challenging time. We’ve rented out a hotel with space for more than 50 families, more will become available for those in need of shelter.” “Please know that we stand with you and will continue to support throughout this difficult period. Rooms will be available at 3pm PT 01/11/24.”
Taking to social media the Latin group noted on Instagram that they’ve rented the unnamed hotel for six days, beginning today, January 11, adding “Please reach out to [email protected] for further information.”
As four active blazes continue to burn in the region, some 12,000 structures have been destroyed, and roughly 180,000 people have been forced to evacuate along with eleven deaths.
Many celebrities in the entertainment industry are helping provide aid to those affected. Via her Family Foundation which was formed with her family to “support our great city and state and the great people who live and love there,” Jamie Lee Curtis pledged $1 million toward fire relief funds Paris Hilton, who lost her home, pledged $100,000 to help families affected by the fires via the Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE), promising to match up to $100,000 in donations.
There are a number of resources and ways to help those affected by the fires. Alongside resources available to everyone — including tracking the fires via the Watch Duty app and other alert resources to evacuation and shelters information, and ways to help — there are also music-specific resources available to those in the music community.
