When Paris Hilton sat down with Rolling Stone for a 2023 profile, the celebrity confirmed that, both, Miley Cyrus and Meghan Trainor were among the musicians who sent possible demos for her forthcoming full length. And on Tuesday (7.09), the periodical announced that, come July 26, Hilton and Trainor will release “Chasin,'” co-produced by Sia.
in her own words Trainor told Rolling Stone “I started working on this song years ago and knew I had to save it for someone very special. Paris brought it to a whole new level.” “She is my hero, my idol, and I can’t believe I get to be friends with her.”
Throughout the reggaeton-inspired single, the female duo address a partner’s unwillingness to match their love and energy and Hilton was “blown away” by Trainor’s songwriting on the track.
“[She] put into words an experience that was so true for me; that time in your life when you find the confidence, power, and self-love, to walk away from toxic relationships and move forward with your life.” “Meghan has become a sister to me. I feel so lucky we’ve gotten to collaborate in all these fun and special ways. Co-produced by Sia, Jesse Shatkin, and Banx & Ranx, the new track will follow “I’m Free,” Hilton’s self-empowering collaboration with Rina Sawayama that was released in late June and both titles are set to be featured on the singer’s second LP, Infinite Icon, slated for a September 6 drop.
In April, Paris released “Fame Won’t Love You” featuring Sia and, at the time, she told Rolling Stone she was “instantly inspired and knew we had to make a record” after she recorded her song “Hot One” in 2023 with Alex Chapman. “We went into Sunset Sound Studio and ended up recording 3 songs in just one day! It was magic!”
