Cliff Richard’s 86th Birthday

At a special afternoon tea event held at London’s Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane, Sir Cliff Richard celebrated his 86th birthday alongside his devoted fans.

Hosted by radio legend Ken Bruce, the gathering marked the upcoming release of the iconic singer/songwriter’s 48th studio album, Only Number Ones, with the musician sharing a selection of new tracks with those in attendance.

Enjoying a classic afternoon tea featuring sandwiches, scones, and bespoke desserts, fans of the British artist who secured entry by pre-ordering the album were treated to photos with Sir Cliff, who was presented with a birthday cake to celebrate his milestone year. Attendees also heard an exclusive preview of ‘My Sweet Lord’ and his brand-new version of ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’ a track originally taken to #1 in the England by Roy Orbison 62 years ago this week, which Sir Cliff officially released on his birthday.

About the event, Richard said “I am so thrilled to have been able to celebrate my 86th birthday with my fans.” “They have always been very special to me and are the reason why I continue to make music and tour. They helped me all of these years to get to number one, and it is great that I am now able to give back with my own versions of number one tracks that I personally love.”

Available on November 27 on all major streaming platforms and retailers, Only Number Ones features the singer’s signature sound on iconic chart-toppers spanning eighty years.

Produced by Sam Hollander and Josh Edmondson, the record features covers of tracks originally made famous by The Beatles, The Everly Brothers, The Monkees, Elvis Presley, and Harry Styles, alongside a fresh 2026 rendition of ‘White Christmas.’

Combining the new recordings with all 14 of Sir Cliff’s original UK #1 singles – including 1959’s ‘Living Doll’ to festive classics like ‘Mistletoe and Wine’ – and celebrating his legacy as the third best-selling artist in UK singles chart history, a Deluxe Edition of the full length will also be released.
